Kitty Hawk– Winifred Crichton "Winnie" Fanshaw, 90, passed away August 12, 2016. Born April 23, 1926 in Capron, she was the daughter of the late Fletcher B. and Forrest Williams Crichton. Winnie retired from Bank of America and moved to Kitty Hawk, NC where she enjoyed many walks on the beach, cooking for friends, and a good card game when she was winning. She was predeceased by a sister, Clyde C. Pulley, and a brother, Bentley Crichton.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 67 years, Kenneth Earl Fanshaw, Jr.; her daughter, Linda F. Johnson and her husband, Frank; two grandchildren, Kenneth Johnson and his wife, Carrie, and Jessica J. Law and her husband, Jon; four great-grandchildren, Noah Johnson, Haley Johnson, Isabella Law and Barrett Law; sister-in-law, Margie Crichton; brother-in-law, C. Graham Pulley and beloved nieces, nephews and countless friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Talbot Park Baptist Church, Norfolk. Burial will follow in Capron Cemetery, Capron, at 4PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Talbot Park Baptist Church, 6919 Granby St., Norfolk, VA 23505.
