Greenville, NC – William Henry "Bobby" Snead passed away with family by his side on January 12, 2025 at ECU Medical Center. He was born on March 30, 1930, in Danville, VA to the late Andrew Cabell Snead and Catherine Schott Snead. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Simmons Snead, and his sister Myrtle "Dolores" Zaner.

Bobby was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He loved telling stories about his time in the service and never left the house without his Navy Veteran hat on his head. He was retired from the US Postal Service, and after figuring out that retirement did not sit well with him, he began selling cars. Bobby worked at many car dealerships around Franklin, including, Parsons Chevrolet, Ward Woodard, and Bell Motors. Bobby was a longtime member of High Street United Methodist Church and along with his late wife, Shirley, was instrumental in the recovery of downtown Franklin and the surrounding areas during the aftermath of Hurricane Floyd.

Bobby never met a stranger and loved spreading kindness throughout the community. He loved to dance, spend time with his family, hanging out in the yard with his pets, and enjoyed listening to music. He always had a kind word, always ending every conversation with the words "I love you," no matter who he was talking with, even strangers. He could lighten a room and leave everyone with a smile, he enjoyed spreading happiness. Bobby left an impression on so many throughout his life, and took every opportunity he could find to talk with others about his faith.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Michele Snead and Kristen Snead Peele and her husband Randy. He had two grandchildren, Jakob Snead and Randal Peele, Jr., which he was so proud of and bragged about to whomever would listen. He also leaves behind two nieces, Shera Dare "Sherri" Wheeler, who he loved like a daughter, and Katherine D. "Kassie" Mahoney, and her husband Paul.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to the High Street United Methodist Church or UMCOR Global Ministries. Services will be private.
