Franklin – William Edward "Billy" Drake, Sr., 60, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2023 in his home.  Born in Portsmouth and raised in Franklin, he was a son of the late Emmitt Edward Drake and Louise Jordan Drake.  He was also predeceased by his wife, Lisa Brock Drake, and his son, William Edward "Little Billy" Drake, Jr.

Billy attended Franklin High School where he played football and baseball and was our favorite town meat cutter.  He was a devoted father and grandfather and his grandkids best friend.  Billy never knew a stranger and would give his shirt off his back if needed.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Crystal Drake Beale (David); his brother, Barry L. Drake; and five grandchildren, Keira and Haley Wicks and Kala, Ethan, and Elton Nielsen.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4PM Thursday, March 23, 2023 in Wright Funeral Home.  The family suggests that memorial donations be made to any favorite charity.
