Franklin – Floyd William "Bubsie" Burgess, 89, widower of Nancy Juanita Dilday Burgess, passed away March 17, 2021 in The Village at Woods Edge.  William, born in Conway, NC and formerly of Sedley and Cudjoe Key, FL, was a son of the late Floyd Thomas Burgess and Lucy Rose Burgess.  He was also predeceased by two sisters, Virginia Griffith and Vivian Hawkins.

William was a US Army Veteran and a retired supervisor at Union Camp Corporation.  He worked in the Pro Shop of Cypress Cove County Club and he loved to fish.  William was a member of Sedley Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Dawn Burgess Williams and her husband Buddy of Deltaville; a son, David Burgess and his wife Beverly of Mechanicsville; a sister, Dorothy Mae Britt of Canton, NC; a brother, J. T. Burgess and his wife Diane of Sedley; four grandchildren, Lindsay Fulton and her husband Bobby, Kendall Burgess, Jessiah Rudolph and his wife Sara, and Justin Rudolph; and a great granddaughter, Sadie Rudolph.

A Graveside Celebration with family and friends will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 2PM at the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Ahoskie, NC which is between Murfreesboro and Winton, NC.
