Newsoms – William Bowie "Billy" Bodmer, 63, died July 27, 2009 after a long battle with leukemia. He was born in Leesburg, a son of the late Elmer A. and Catherine Phillips Bodmer Cooley. Billy was predeceased by his brother, James Bodmer. He was a retired truck driver for Hornady Transportation LLC and was a protestant.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Nancy Ferguson Bodmer; a daughter, Jennifer Bodmer and fiancé, Ned Bess, of Newsoms; a son, Bill Edwards-Bodmer and wife, Gretchen, of Portsmouth; and two grandchildren, Paul William Bangley II and Jackson Shane Edwards-Bodmer.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Hollywood Cemetery with Mike Hazelwood officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Jennifer Bodmer, 22146 Ballpark Road, Newsoms. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is assisting the family. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
