Waverly – William James Blake, 68, a resident of Waverly since 1982, passed away January 22, 2015. He was the only child of the late William James and Norma Lois Uhde Blake.

Jim was an Army veteran, having served two tours of duty in Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW Post 622 Petersburg, and a 12 year veteran of the Waverly Rescue Squad. Jim was a retired painter, enjoyed motorcycles, and was a cowboy at heart. He was Catholic by faith.

Left to cherish his memory is his friend, Megen Palmer, and three cousins, Norma Suzanne Harrup of Texas, Daniel Carpenter of Minnesota, and Lynette Bierley of Quincy, CA..
