Franklin – W. C. Gaunce, 85, departed this life on November 26, 2025 and went home to be with the Lord.  Born on September 8, 1940 in Carlisle, KY, he was a son of the late Elizabeth Bellamy and Shoat Gaunce.

W. C. served in the Navy for 10 years and retired from the Justice Department after 20 years.  He was also a realtor for 20 years.  W. C. loved life, collected arrow heads, marbles, and loved gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Brannock Gaunce; his daughter, Victoria Boughton (Brendan); three grandchildren, Caitlin, Maegan, and Connor Boughton; two sisters, Anna Cassity of Paris, KY and Margaret Pittman (William) of Lawrenceburg, KY; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a son James Robert Gaunce and a brother, James Gaunce.

A Mass of Christian Burial with Military Honors will be celebrated at 11AM Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Emmanuel Mensah officiating.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church or any veteran's homeless program.
