Boykins – Henry Wayne Reames, 70, passed away May 12, 2017 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. Wayne was a native of Branchville and was a son of the late Gladys William Reames and Mary Ruth Griffin Reames.

He was a member of Branchville Baptist Church and retired from Severn Peanut Company. He was a former Junior Fire Captain and Assistant Chief of the Branchville Fire Department and had served on the Building Committee for the New Branchville Firehouse. He had been a member of the Boykins Rescue Squad, Meherrin Valley Hunt Club and the New Life Band. He was community Santa Claus for many years, an avid drummer and truck driver.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 48 years, Janice Turner Reames, two daughters, Kristie Marie Reames Ward and her husband Chad and Kelly Ruth Reames Jarratt and her husband Michael, one brother Bobby Ray Reames (Jean), four grandchildren, Brandon Ward, Cole, Kelsey and Camden Jarratt and a special family friend Billy Crisp.

Wayne was predeceased by a brother William David Reames.

A funeral will be conducted at 1PM Wednesday May 17, 2017 in Wright Funeral Home, Boykins with the Rev. Michael Baugham officiating. Burial will follow at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8PM Tuesday and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Branchville Fire Department or Boykins Rescue Squad. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
