Franklin – Dewey Wayne Edwards, Jr., 52, passed away on January 13, 2022 in Maryview Hospital.

Wayne received an Associate's Degree from Chowan University and Paul D. Camp Community College.  He was a security officer for Allied Universal.

He was a life member in perpetuity of the Franklin Masonic Lodge 151 A.F. & A.M., a member of the Khedive Shrine Temple in Chesapeake, a former member of the Khedive Temple Hillbillies Unit and a former member of the Franklin Shrine Club.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Betty Grizzard Edwards; his sister, Donna Edwards Rose and her husband Davis; two nieces, Daelyn and Dutchess Rose; a nephew, Denver Rose; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  Wayne was predeceased by his father, Dewey Wayne Edwards, Sr.

A Graveside Service with Mason Rites will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in Southampton Memorial Park with Rev. Steve Gibson officiating.  The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Courtland Youth Athletic Association, c/o Trina Johnson, 22424 Storys Station Rd., Courtland, VA  23837.
