Courtland – Wayne Duffy Jones, 72, passed away on April 24, 2022 in Southside Regional Medical Center.  Born in Franklin, he was the son of the late Howell Derwood Jones and Rachel Griffin Jones.  He was also predeceased by his wife Lessie Battle Jones, a daughter, Kelly Rae Jones Carthen, and a brother, Derwood Jones.

Wayne was a 1969 graduate of Franklin High School.  He was a power plant turbine operator for International Paper and a former DJ with WYSR.

Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Courtney Jones Wood (Jamie); a sister, Carol J. Brock (Grant); five grandchildren, Kimberly Wood, Jason Warrick, Vivian Wood, Morgan Wood, and Will Carthen, III; a great grandchild, Ariella Delhanty; and his best friends in Christ, Dewayne and Deborah Lambert.

Services will be private.
