Boykins – Wayne Thomas Edwards, 58, died December 20, 2007. A native of Southampton County, he was predeceased by his mother, Jane Smith Edwards.; and his grandparents, Thomas (Jack) and Elsie Smith, and Douglas and Olie Edwards. Wayne retired from Hercules in 2005 as a mechanic after 35 years service. He was a former Army National Guardsman and a member of Boykins Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his father, Howard Elliott Edwards of Margaretsville, NC; four sons Johnathan Wesley Edwards and wife, Jessica, of Courtland; Christopher Douglas Edwards and wife, Jamie, of Drewryville; Cpl. Matthew Thomas Edwards, USMC, and wife, Victoria, stationed in San Diego, Ca.; Brandon Wilson Edwards and wife, Danielle, of Drewryville; one brother, Donald Elliott Edwards and wife, Shelby, of Franklin; and five grandchildren, Tyler, Tristan, Colby, Chrissa, and Charles Edwards.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday at Beechwood Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating.
