Franklin – Virginia Marie Sawyer, 82, widow of Walter Carl Sawyer, died August 21, 2010 at the East Pavilion. She was born in Gary, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Sam and Armedia Hawks Bryant and was predeceased by seven brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include daughters, Janice Marie Osborne of Suffolk, Betty Jane Sawyer (Bill) of Franklin, Judith A. Aston (Ben) of Chocowinty, NC, Carrie Lynn Schnur (Mark) of Franklin; sons, William Kenneth Osborne and Walter Carl Sawyer, Jr. (Lynn), all of Franklin; brothers, Sam Bryant (Addis) of Lambsburg, and Roscoe Bryant of Falls Church; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be at 7 pm Monday, August 23, at Wright Funeral Home.
