Richmond-Virginia A. Howell, formerly of Franklin and Suffolk, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 4 at the age of 96. She had been a resident at The Hermitage at Cedarfield, in Richmond, VA for the past twenty years.

She was predeceased by her husband, A. Gibson Howell and is survived by her son, Alex G. Howell, Jr., his wife Margaret H. Howell , three grandchildren, Alexander Gibson Howell, III and wife Monica Howard Howell, William Clay Howell and wife Della Livesay Howell and Margaret Virginia Howell Malik and husband Robert Michael Malik, eight great grandchildren, Alexander Scott Howell, Kathryn Elizabeth Magee, William Matthew Howell, Emily Grace Howell, Rachel Margaret Howell, Lucas Taft Howell, Devin Brooke Malik and Emily Virginia Malik.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin with the Rev. Skip Irby officiating. Wright Funeral home has charge of arrangements. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
