Sedley – Vickie Lee Phipps, 63, passed away October 26, 2021 in her home.   Born in Franklin on May 23, 1958, she was a daughter of the late Bennett Lee Edwards, Jr. and Bernice Vick Edwards.

Vickie was a 1976 graduate of Southampton High School.  She received her undergraduate degree from Norfolk State College and her Master's Degree from University of Phoenix.  Vickie was a retired Special Education teacher in the Southampton County Public School system.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ernest Dale Phipps; two daughters, Tina Clark (Jeff) and Kelly Holemon (James); three sons, Kevin Story (Heather), Mitch Phipps (Megan), and Brandon Phipps (Courtney); two sisters, Dale Edwards Holt (Ricky) and Brenda Edwards Flowers (William "Tal" Murphy); a brother, James Kenneth "Kenny" Edwards (Marsha); and ten grandchildren, Darrien, Leah, Christian, Corey, Miranda, Jacee, Kayle, Jade, James III, and Carley.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Saturday, October 30, 2021 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. David Henson and Mr. James Holemon, Jr. officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
