Como- Vera G. Stalter, 82, of Como, NC died August 31 while in the care of hospice.

Mourning her are James, her husband of 60 years, son, James Michael of Yuma, AZ, daughters, Patricia Copeland of Roanoke Rapids and Lisa Blazer of Jacksonville, NC, five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Vera, as a Navy wife, accompanied her husband to many places during his time in the Navy. In the states or at overseas stations, she immersed herself in the joys of local cooking and amassed an impressive library of cookbooks.

She has always enjoyed cooking and developed her skills to near chef excellence. She tried all kinds of recipes and liked to share her talents with others, especially those just starting to cook.

She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, VA. There will be no service.
