Zuni – Tony Mason Briley, 71, passed away October 26, 2024 in his home.  Born in Franklin, he was a son of the late Rev. Julian Burley Briley and Lucille Mason Briley.  He was also predeceased by his step son, Scott Edward Whitfield.

Tony was a 1973 graduate of Franklin High School and a graduate of Paul D. Camp Community College.  He was a retired accounting manager for the Department of Defense.  Tony was a member of the Sun Wheelers wheelchair basketball team for 40 years and was a longtime volunteer coach for softball and basketball.  He was a member of Believers Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 31 years, Peggy Ann Briley; his siblings, Jean B. Lowe (David), Gary H. Briley (Sharon), J. Wayne Briley (Wanda Blythe), and Teresa B. Vick (Steve); a grandchild, Haley Kendall Whitfield; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Thursday, October 31, 2024 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Tyler Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial and Cremation Gardens, 4569 Shoulders Hill Rd., Suffolk, VA.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM Wednesday in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to Sun Wheelers, Inc., 8 Bowen Dr., Hampton, VA 23666.
