Franklin – Toby Ann Gross, 82, widow of William Billips "Bill" Gross, passed away January 17, 2021 in the East Pavilion.  Born July 3, 1938 in Giles County, VA, she was a daughter of the late James Edward Gray and Thelma Burton Gray.  She was also predeceased by two sons, William and Randy Hare, a sister, Lucille Richardson and a brother, Jimmy Gray.

Toby was a member of Franklin Church of God and the former owner of Next to New in Franklin.

Left to cherish her memory is two daughters, Katrina Carr and her husband Mark of Ivor and Debbie Parker and her husband Kenny of Chesapeake; a son, David Hare and his wife Dee of Dublin; a brother, Dan Gray and his wife Debbie of Christiansburg; two daughters-in-law, Sylvia Hare of Oakboro, NC and Janice Hare of Bealeton, VA; a sister-in-law, Barbara Gray of Pembroke; ten grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at the East Pavilion for their wonderful care.

A viewing will be held Thursday, January 21 at 10AM in Givens-Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, VA and a Funeral Service at 11AM in the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Cedar Gove Cemetery.
