Thomas Lloyd Perry, Sr., 83, widower of Imogene "Skeeter" Bass Perry, passed away June 6, 2007. Born in Franklin, he was a son of the late Mack Raymond and Lillie Ophelia Keeter Perry and, following the deaths of his parents, was raised by the late Eva Darden Hines. Mr. Perry, a Navy veteran of WWII who served in the European and Pacific theatres, was the former General Manager and Vice President of J.J. Pace Supply Company. He was a member and longtime deacon of Franklin Congregational Christian Church.
Survivors include his sons, Thomas Lloyd Perry, Jr., of Franklin, Richard Mack "Rick" Perry and wife, Bonnie, of Mechanicsville and George Edward Perry of Hampton; sister, Annie Laurie Jackson of Portsmouth; brother, James Thomas Perry of Knightstown, Indiana; two grandchildren, Ashleigh and Katherine Perry and other family and friends. He was predeceased by a son, Steve Perry.
A graveside funeral, with military honors, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, with the Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. and the Rev. Lafayette L. Wilkins, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Franklin Congregational Christian Church, 412 North High St., Franklin, VA 23851. Wright Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
