Franklin – Thomas Phillip Goodman, 86, passed away May 21, 2007 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was born in Nansemond County, a son of the late Willie Frank and Emaline Howell Goodman, and was a retired contractor.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Bertie Coggsdale Goodman; his son, Mitchell K. Goodman, Sr.; one brother, Lawrence H. Goodman; two grandchildren, Mitchell K. Goodman, Jr., Heather G. Darden and husband, Phil; and one great-grandchild, Ayden M. Darden. Mr. Goodman was predeceased by a brother, Vernon Goodman.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 pm Wednesday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at Mrs. Goodman's residence, 368-H North College Drive.
