Franklin – Thomas Lee Bishop, 68, passed away March 16, 2011 at his residence. Born in Richmond, he was the son of the late Inez Hammond and Thomas L. Bishop, Sr., and was predeceased by a daughter, Joanne B. Pierce. A former National Guardsman, he was a truck driver for Lee White Trucking and attended Vincent's Grove United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Annie Compton Bishop; three daughters, Brandi Tanyer (John) of Norfolk, Jaclyn Bishop and Nellie Bishop, both of Franklin; two sons, Thomas "Buddy" L. Bishop, III (Anna) of Richmond, Michael Elders of Franklin; sister, Shirley Walton of Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren, Thomas "Rusty" Bishop, IV ( Kristy) , Ashley Saunders, Jimmy, Anthony and Justin Pierce, Marie Carr, John Michael and Elisabeth Bishop; seven great-grandchildren, two nieces, a nephew and his "adopted" children.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Wright Funeral Home.
