Franklin – Sylvia Williams Stradley, 89, passed away September 12, 2022 in her home with family by her side.  Born in Suffolk, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Thaddeus Williams and Nell Witchard Williams.  She was also predeceased by her husband, Ralph Thomas Stradley, and a sister, Joann Williams.

Sylvia was a graduate of Suffolk High School and of Mary Washington College.  She was the former owner and operator of Dockside Restaurant.  Sylvia was a member of the Franklin Woman's Club, Christian Women's Club, and of Franklin Congregational Christian Church.  She was an avid Bridge player.

Left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Katrine Stradley Spruill (Dennis); two sons, Joseph William Stradley (Estelle) and James Marvin Stradley (Ginger); a sister, Betsy W. Brothers; six grandchildren, Jay T. Stradley, Denton Spruill, Sarah Bryant, Shirley Lee Rountree, Jacob Fields and Trista Kelley; and several great grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at 2PM Thursday, September 15, 2022 in Poplar Spring Cemetery with Rev. Lafayette Wilkins officiating.  The family suggests that memorial donations be made to CHKD or Franklin Congregational Christian Church.
