Sylvia Kay Holland Livesay

Franklin – Sylvia Kay Livesay, 80, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026 in Fairview Rehabilitation Center (formerly East Pavilion) with her family by her side. Born and raised in Frankin, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Virginia Holland.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 60 years, Michael; daughter, Robin Livesay-Howard and her husband William; three grandchildren, Michael, Michele, and Mason; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Coleman Holland and his wife Sherren and Chris Holland and his wife Kathy; nieces Nicole, Rachel and Rebecca; and nephew Clay.

Sylvia attended Franklin High School where she made life-long friends. She met the love of her life, Mike, in Elementary School and they built a beautiful life together for over 60 years. She held several jobs over the years including being a hairdresser, real estate agent and trainer, an Executive Assistant to the president of Regent University, Dr. David Guyertson, and the Board of Directors. Most importantly she helped Mike build a successful insurance agency in Virginia Beach.

Sylvia had a love for God and people like no other. She held bible studies in her home, was a youth group leader, and mentored countless young ladies and women. She loved to cook and her table was always full of friends, family and food. Even with dementia she never lost her smile or love of life. You could find her walking the halls at East Pavilion or dancing with the staff or volunteers. Her love for God, life, and her positive attitude is something that will live on through her family and others.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2PM Saturday, October 10, 2026 in Wright Funeral Home. The family asks everyone to wear color to her funeral as she wants a celebration and suggests that memorial donations be made to Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater, 1100 Madison Plaza, Suite 104A, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
