Newsoms – Sylvia Anne Lassiter, 80, passed away April 17, 2025 in her home with family by her side.  Born in Herford County, NC and raised in Newsoms, she was a daughter of the late Edwin Joshua Lassiter and Kathleen Wall Bryant.  She was also predeceased by two sisters, Veronica Cook and Martha Jane Lakes, and two brothers, Bobby Lassiter and Billie Lassiter.

Sylvia was a retired sales associate for Walmart.

Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Deborah Barnes (Shakey); two sons, Stephen "Mud Duck" Lankford and Keith Astor-McKinsley; and two brothers, Charles E. Lassiter (Susan) of Newsoms and Edwin J. "Ease" Lassiter, Jr. (Kathy) of Ahoskie, NC.

Services will be private.
