Suffolk – Sylvia Bradshaw Funkhouser, 87, passed away on June 23, 2021 in Sentara Obici Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late Roy Ulysses Bradshaw and Louise Cook Bradshaw and was also predeceased by her first husband, Richard S. Butler, Jr.

Sylvia was a graduate of Newsoms High School and Longwood College.  She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Suffolk.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 39 years, Robert William Funkhouser; her children, Deborah A. Butler, Cathy B. Daughtrey (Bobby), Richard S. "Rick" Butler, III (Torri), Kay F. Adams (Carter), and Susan F. Lawrence (Leck); nine grandchildren, Jason, Josh, Jake, Claire, Anne-Tyler, Michael, Parke, Clayton, and Sheldon; and one great grandson, Archer, plus another on the way.

A Private Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 in Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. Richard L. Meiser, Jr. officiating.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice.
