Franklin-Susie Lee Edwards Branch Eason, 96, widow of Sidney Elmo Eason passed away October 18, 2014 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Susie was a native of Franklin and was a daughter of the late Bennett Lee Edwards and Bernice Lee Edwards Branch and was predeceased by her foster father and uncle Gurney W. Branch , two sisters and four brothers, Ruth Edwards, Janie Wood, Ryland, Willie, Clinton, and B.L. Edwards, Jr., her beloved son, Sidney Donald "Donnie" Eason and her son-in-law John Lowe.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Betty E. Lowe of Franklin, her sister-in-law, Bernice Edwards of Courtland, five grandchildren, Susan Windrum (Matthew) of New York, Donna Rice (Tim) of Suffolk, Sharon Hill (Carson), Kenneth Lowe (Lynette) and Michael Lowe ( Tammy) all of Franklin, eight great grandchildren, Arick Hill (Dawn), Tiffany Fancher (Nick), Betsy Long (Mark), Kelly Kokas, Brittney Lowe, Donald Thomas Rice, Ryan Windrum and Emma Windrum, five great-great grandchildren, Savannah and Kaylee Hill, Mackenzie and Noah Fancher and Cadence Lowe.

Mrs. Eason had retired from Peebles Department Store and was a longtime member of Franklin Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Kimlick and the Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and suggests memorial donations be made to Franklin Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
