Zuni – Susan Kathleen Griffith was born on April 16, 1949 in Perryton, Texas to Norman and Evelyn Griffith. After graduating from high school, she worked in retail, grocery, the security field, and finally in the mortgage industry from which she retired as a loan underwriter in 2013. Susan passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021 in the home she shared with her daughter and son in law. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Patrick Griffith, and is survived her sister Sandy Reynolds and her only daughter, Elisabeth Culpepper.

Susan loved to travel, eat good food, and could generally be found on one escapade or another. A confirmed cat lady, she also enjoyed gardening, amazing her neighbors with her ability to grow sky high tomatoes in a container on a completely shaded porch. Any day could be an adventure with Susan, going down the road or across the country. As she would often say, "it was the little things that tickled her".

Susan was a hard-working mother who did her best to pass on her impeccable work ethic and the value of getting a wild hair from time to time. In 2018, they took a week-long road trip from Los Angeles to Northern California; Susan called it their "last campaign".

She would want others to learn to be a little wild, a lot stubborn, and love and support the people in your life no matter what. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to your local SPCA.
