Franklin – Steven Dwayne Powell, 51, passed away on May 3, 2018. Stevie was born in South Hill, a 1984 graduate of Franklin High School, and was a self-employed carpenter. He was predeceased by his father James Harold Powell and son Travis Dwayne Powell.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother Betty Huss "Mutt" Powell, a brother Ritchie B. Powell, a grandson Brantley Dwayne Powell, two nephews Kendall and Derek Powell, a great niece Mia Powell, a great nephew Gabriel Powell, former wife Wanda White, and former sister-in-law Sarah F. Powell.

A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, May 6, 2018 in Wright Funeral Home with burial to follow at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Robert Lyons will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and suggest that memorial donations be made to the Franklin Volunteer Rescue Squad, 100 S.
