Ivor – Stephen Claude Pyles, 74, passed away November 1, 2024 in Nansemond Point Rehabilitation and Nursing.  Born in Portsmouth, he was a son of late Joseph Claude Pyles and Evelyn Robinson Pyles.  He was also predeceased by a brother, Lewis Clinton Pyles.

Stephen was a graduate of Warwick High School and was served in the US Army.  He was a retired ship fitter for Newport News Shipyard. Stephen enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and just liked to live life.  He was a member of the Church of Christ in Virginia Beach.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife and best friend, Beth Ann Peters Pyles; a daughter, Stephanie Michelle Hersey (Shawn); two sons, Jason Lewis Pyles (Beth) and Matthew Stephen Pyles (Ashley); and six grandchildren, Aydin Hersey, Jordyn Hersey, Emma Pyles, Jacob Pyles, Jordan Pyles, and Evan Pyles.

Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
