Suffolk – Stephen Lee Johnson, 43, loving husband, father and son passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011. Born in Franklin, he was a graduate of Southampton Academy and Elon College and was employed by Nansemond River golf course. Stephen was a member of Sedley Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Amy Arnette Johnson; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Ellis; son, Andrew Ellis, Jr.; his parents, J.B. and Kay Francis Johnson, Jr. of Sedley; brother, Ben Johnson and his wife, Kim, of Holland; nephews, Carter and R.J. and niece, Shelby.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Sedley Baptist Church, Sedley, with the Rev. Jim Foreman and Rev. Dr. Drew Mountcastle officiating. Interment will follow in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests memorial donations be made to his wife, Amy Johnson, 2530 Whaleyville Blvd., Suffolk, VA, 23434 for an educational fund for the children.
