Franklin – Sidney Inez Ray Richards, 89, widow of Robert Lee Richards, passed away on May 26, 2022 in East Pavilion. Born in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Harold Russell Ray and Minnie Rollins Ray.

Sidney was a graduate of Anstead High School and a case worker for the Dept. of Social Services in Norfolk and Virginia Beach.  She was a loving and devoted Navy wife.

Left to cherish her memory is three sons, Buck Richards (Valerie) of Chesapeake, Roy Richards (Lynn) of Newsoms, and Chuck Richards of Franklin; four grandchildren, Ryan Richards (Megan), Tyler Richards (Samantha), Linwood Grimes (Latoyia), and Ada Butler (Ricky); and five great grandchildren.
