Franklin, VA- Sidney Franklin Faulkner, Jr., 78, supported by his loving family and friends, departed this life peacefully June 7, 2010 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. Born in Franklin County, NC, to the late Lelia Hale and Sidney Franklin Faulkner, he was a former resident of Henderson, NC and was retired as an auditor for the retail clothing store industry. He was a member and former deacon of Mountain Grove Baptist Church, Alert, NC.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Carolyn Burnette Lane Faulkner; step-sons, Benjamin "Tony" Lane (April) and Robert "Bob" Lane (Pat), and two step-grandchildren, Katie Lane and Ben Lane, all of Franklin, VA; sister, Lavenia Robertson of Stratford, Ct.; many nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Cal Davis of Oxford, NC. He was predeceased by his first wife, Faylene Faulkner, two brothers, David Lee Faulkner and Charlie Faulkner, and one sister, Pat Faulkner.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Lancaster Memorial Park Funerals and Cremations Chapel, Louisburg, NC with Rev. Bill Wallace officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service and suggests memorials be made to Mountain Grove Baptist Church, c/o Susan Hale, 939 Alert Rd., Warrenton, NC 27589.
