Franklin – Sibyl Presson Beale passed away August 27, 2013 at her home. Born in Wakefield, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Presson, Jr. and Bessie Zills Presson. She was predeceased by her husband, Warren Steele Beale and son, Warren Steele Beale, Jr. She was also predeceased by her brother, John Thomas Presson, III. Sibyl attended Chowan College, had a career as a rental property manager and was a past board member at Southampton Academy; chairing the Ways and Means committee for seven years and an Antique Show volunteer for many years. She loved spending time with her family and had a generous and fun loving spirit that will be missed by many. Sibyl was an independent lady who relished her family farm and delighted in tractor rides around the property. She also enjoyed nature, flowers and animals.
She leaves cherished memories for numerous nieces and nephews. Her friendship and unconditional love will be fondly remembered.
The family will receive friends at the home of James C. Beale, III, 304 S. High Street, Franklin. A graveside funeral will be conducted in Poplar Spring Cemetery at 11 AM Saturday, August 31, by the Reverend James H. Hyatt, Jr. The family will receive guests for refreshments immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church.
