Franklin – Charles Eugene "Shorty" Ellis, 80, passed away October 9, 2021 in his home.   Born in Nansemond County on January 4, 1941, he was a son of the late William Earl Ellis, Sr. and Katherine Johnson Ellis.  He was also predeceased by a son, Charles Christopher Ellis and a brother, Beverly Earl Ellis.

Shorty was an Auto Parts Clerk for Beamon Auto Parts Store for 47 years and a member of Western Branch Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Virgie Faye Rose Ellis; a sister, Frances E. Richards; a brother William Earl Ellis, Jr. (Loretta); five grandchildren, Darnell, Dakota, Gregory, Sydney, and Grant; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Vaughan Ellis; three great grandchildren; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3PM Sunday, October 17, 2021 in Western Branch Baptist Church, 6952 Old Myrtle Rd., Suffolk, VA 23434.
