Franklin - Shirley Lee Munford Vasser, 84 , passed away June 1, 2024 at Southampton Memorial Hospital.  She was a lifelong resident of Southampton County and was a daughter of the late Jasper J. and Ella Cobb Munford. She was also predeceased by her husband, Edward Lawrence Vasser, Sr.; a son, Danny Vasser; two sisters, Eunice Whitley and Brenda Bandy and one brother, J.J. Munford, Jr.

Shirley was retired from Franklin Equipment Co. and was a member of Burdette Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Edward Lawrence Vasser Jr.(Julie) of Suffolk, Steven Vasser, of Franklin, and Douglas Vasser (Laura) of Sedley; two sisters, Mary Darden of Franklin and Sallie Everett of Suffolk; a brother, Randy Munford of Franklin; four grandchildren, Kelsey, Danielle, Carla and Cassidy Vasser; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday June 5, 2024 at Southampton Memorial Park with Rev. Joe Poe officiating.  The Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday in Wright Funeral Home and suggests memorial donations be made to Burdette Baptist Church.
