Franklin - Shirley Moore Jones, 93, widow of Leander (Jinks) Jenkins Jones, died December 5, 2007 at the East Pavilion. She was born in Logan County, WV, a daughter of the late Wayne and Helen Haeger Moore, and was a former resident of Kimball, WV. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary, a Pink Lady for over 24 years at Southampton Memorial Hospital, and a 50+ years member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Jones was retired from Russell & Holmes after twenty years and a member of Courtland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Dolores J. (Paul) Thompson of Courtland; her son, Glenn Lee (DeAnna) Jones of Bluffton, SC.; a brother Howard (Ruby) Moore of Logan, WV.; six grandchildren, Paula (W. T. ) Drake, Lee Ray (Cathy) Thompson, Michael (Patti) Thompson, Jeff (Dodie) Thompson, Steven (Tamara) Jones, Stuart (Lisa) Jones; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 7 pm Thursday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Gordon officiating. Entombment will be at 11 am Saturday at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluefield, WV. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to Courtland United Methodist Church, 22416 Main Street, Courtland, Va. 23837. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
