Boykins – On October 16, 2013 God called home Shirley Ann Jones. She was a native of Southampton County, a daughter of the late Walter and Elsie Ellis, and was predeceased by her husband, Delma Jones. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon W. Snook (Barry); two sons, Don Whitley and Jeff Whitley; two sisters, Gracie Mack (Robbie) and Nancy Patterson (Vernon); brother, Walter B. Ellis (Jane) and four grandchildren, Melissa and Brandon Snook and Brent and Miranda Whitley.
A graveside funeral will be held at 2 PM Sunday, October 20, 2013, at Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Roger Crump officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM on Saturday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin and suggest memorials be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 5101 Cleveland Street, Suite 307, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
