Ivor - Sherry Ray Holt Pickens, 69, widow of Keith Arlan Pickens, Sr. passed away April 19, 2012. Born in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Conrad Norton Holt, Sr. and Inez Lowe Holt. Sherry was a member of the Corinth Friends Meeting and was a former bookkeeper at Holt Metal Products.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cheryl P. Ellis (Mark) of Suffolk and Murriel "Iney" Holt (James) of Newport News; sons, Keith A. Pickens, Jr. of Kentucky and Jason M. Pickens of Cleveland, OH; eight grandchildren, Morgan Daughtry, Keith Pickens, III, Jason Pickens, Jr., Justin Pickens, Andrew Morrison, William Wellons, Jamie Sherrill and Aidan Sherrill; two sisters, Carolyn Ellis Tart ( Phil) of Sedley, Jean Galtress (Bill) of Zuni and Conrad N. Holt, Jr. (Rachelle) of Java. She was predeceased by a brother, Merle R. Holt, Sr.
A service to celebrate Sherry's life will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Corinth Friends Meeting. Amanda Smith, Pastor of Corinth Friends Meeting will officiate.
