Boykins – Sharon Theresa Hasty, 77, passed away July 31, 2023, in Sentara Obici Hospital.  Born in New Brunswick, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Gillings, Sr. and Rose Often Gillings.  She was also predeceased by a son, Theodore Tenzlinger, Sr. and a brother, Joseph Gillings, Jr.

Sharon was a retired nurse for Southampton Memorial Hospital.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 33 years, Robbie Lee Hasty; a daughter, Tara Tenzlinger of NJ; two sons, Thomas Tenzlinger and Todd Tenzlinger (Rosalee), both of NJ; and seven grandchildren, Theodore, Thomas, Amanda, Alexandra, Charles, Olivia, and Alexa.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Saturday, August 5, 2023 in Newsoms Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Wallace officiating.  A reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.  The family will receive friends at the residence and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Newsoms Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 312, Newsoms, VA 23874.
