Courtland – Shari Diane Clifton Flythe, 89, passed away December 7, 2024 in Southampton Memorial Hospital.  Born in Lafayette, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Roy Franklin Clifton and Dorothy Lucille Snell Clifton.  She was also predeceased by her husband, Elwood Dennison Flythe.

Shari attended Indiana University, Butler University, and the John Herron Art Institute.  She taught school in Georgia and Virginia and taught at the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind in Hampton.

Left to cherish her memory is two daughters, Shari Lucille Davenport (Donald) of Greenfield, IN and Linda Leigh Watlet of Courtland; two sons, Michael Barham Flythe (Debbie) of Courtland and William Howard "Buddy" Flythe (Holly) of Branchville; a brother, Michael Franklin Clifton (DeAnne) of Avon, IN; eight grandchildren, Matthew Flythe, Will Flythe, Paul Watlet, James Watlet, Michael Flythe, Diane "Beth" Engelking, Christopher Davenport, and Krista Bond; and eleven great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1PM Wednesday, December 18, 2024 in Riverside Cemetery with Mr. Jim Council and Bishop Dr. Reid Harrison officiating.
