Newsoms – Shannon Woodard Vick, 76, passed away July 2, 2024 in East Pavilion.  Born in Boykins, she was the daughter of the late Harry Garland Woodard and Marian Louise Woodard.

Shannon was a graduate of Southampton High School and Chowan College.  She received her Bachelor's Degree from Atlantic Christian College.  Shannon was a teacher at Southampton Academy and Tidewater Academy.  She was a member of Newsoms United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 43 years, Samuel Calvin "Sammy" Vick, Jr.; her daughter, Whitney Louise Lankford (Ned); her brother, Dennis Stafford Woodard (Jeannie); two grandchildren, Avery and Sam Lankford; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Friday, July 5, 2024 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Baugham officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to Newsoms United Methodist Church.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of East Pavilion and Gentiva Hospice for their wonderful care.
