Courtland – Sarah Whitaker Pulley, 69, passed away June 1, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bertie County, NC and was a daughter of the late Dennis and Rebecca Manning Whitaker. Mrs. Pulley was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, James Arthur Pulley, Sr.; a grandson, Craig Pulley; two brothers and a sister. She was a member of Courtland Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Pulley, and her fiancé, Jesse, of Newport, NC; four sons, James Pulley, and wife, Libby, of Woodland, NC, Roy Pulley, and wife, Wendy, of Courtland, Dennis Pulley, and fiancée, Stephanie, of Virginia Beach, and Mayo Pulley, and wife, Jennifer, of Capron; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Courtland Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Speight officiating. Burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins.
