Samuel Blyth Drewry, Jr., 82 , passed away May 4, 2013 at his home. Born in Southampton County, he was a son of the late Samuel Blyth Drewry, Sr. and Belle Joyner Drewry Raiford. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church.He was predeceased by a daughter, Bonnie Drewry, and two grandsons, Andy Harrup and Luke Drewry.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ola P. Drewry; four children, Linda D. Harrup (Mark) and Samuel P. Drewry (Lucy) all of Franklin, John A. Drewry (Elizabeth) of Courtland and Kenneth A. Drewry (Kathy)of Forest City, NC; two sisters, Gwen Best (John) of Courtland and Sarah Crowell of Hopewell; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Plude (Ian) , Frances Duke (Michael), Amanda, Seth, Jason, Renee, Krystal and Kaleb Drewry and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral will be held at 2p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley, with the Rev. Thomas Speight officiating.
