Murfreesboro, NC – Ruth Winborne Galtress, 82, passed away March 11, 2019 in Vidant Medical Center.  Ruth was born in Northampton County to the late Marcus Otto Winborne and Inez Marie Burgess Winborne.  She is also predeceased by her husband of 39 years Richard Allen Galtress and a brother Jesse Winborne.  Ruth was retired from Family Dollar and a member of Meherrin Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters Jo Ellen Bryan and Marie G. Williams (Danny); a sister Joyce W. Ham; two brothers Chester Winborne, and James Winborne; four grandchildren Jessica (Lalo), Johnnie Rae, Grafton, and Noah; five great grandchildren Bryan, Diamond (Jonathan), Destiny, Kelsea, and Dakota; and three great-great grandchildren Juliet, Julian, and Haylee.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 15, 2019 in Riverside Cemetery, Murfreesboro, NC, with Rev. John Porter officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 PM in Meherrin Baptist Church and other times at the home of her daughter Marie, 507 Meherrin Lane, Murfreesboro, NC.    www.wrightfuneralhome.org
