Zuni – Ruth Ann Edwards Story, 63, passed away January 3, 2022 in her home with family by her side.   Born in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late D.S. and Joyce Edwards.

Ruth Ann was a 1976 graduate of Southampton High School and was a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She retired from nursing after working for Southampton Memorial Hospital, several doctor's offices, Western Tidewater Mental Health, and private duty nursing.  After retirement, she enjoyed working at Mid-Atlantic Cotton Gin.  She and Gene enjoyed the Eastern Shore, fishing and fellowshipping with their friends.

She was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 40 years, Gene Story; a brother, David Edwards (Denise); three nieces, Jenna Booth (Blake), Samantha Wachter (Will), and Sarah Furlong (Phil); and three great nephews, Harper, Everett and David.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, January 6, 2022 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Faison officiating.  Burial will be private.  There will be a celebration of Ruth Ann's life at Gene's Shop after the service.  The family suggests that memorial donations be made to any favorite charity.
