Franklin – Russell Marion Reeder, 91, died March 15, 2009. He was born in Paulding County, Ohio and was a longtime Michigan resident. Russell was a son of the late James Marion and Laura Russell Reeder and was predeceased by a son, James Reeder, and a sister, Marcella Wethington. He was a retired engineer with the Penn Central Railroad, and a member of Hunterdale Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife of 69 years, Velma Simonds Reeder; one daughter, Betty R. Alldaffer (Ron), of Smithfield; a daughter-in-law, Betty Reeder of Franklin; three grandsons, James Reeder of Franklin, Ron Alldaffer (Barbara), of Minneapolis, and Daniel Alldaffer (Kathy) of Franklin; and four great-grandchildren, Daniel Alldaffer, Jr., Ryan Alldaffer, Abby and Kathryn Alldaffer.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday at Hunterdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Vinson officiating. The burial will be at a later date at Chapel Cemetery in Parma, Michigan. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hunterdale Baptist Church, 23099 Sedley Road, Franklin, Va. 23851, or a favorite charity.
