Gates – Rudolph Franklin Marshall, 73, passed away March 12, 2014. He was a son of the late Wiley Bland and Goldie Koeller Marshall and was predeceased by five brothers, Walley, Willard, Robert, Alfred and Joseph Marshall. Rudy was a Vietnam Marine veteran, retired supervisor from Gunnoe Sausage Company and was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church in Franklin, VA.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 46 years, Mary Elizabeth Fowler Marshall; three sons, Rudolph Franklin Marshall, Jr. of Gates, NC, Paul Vincent Marshall (Stacey) of Madison, VA and Steven Franklin Marshall (Sarah) of Tampa, FL; one sister, May M. Winters (Bill) of Wilson, NC; one brother, Charles Lewis Marshall (Val) of Suffolk, VA; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren on the way and special friends Tom "Tater" and Darlene Moyer and Franklin Fowler.

The funeral will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Black Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Kitts officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Southampton Memorial Park.
