Franklin – Ruby Faye Story, 77, of Franklin, transitioned to eternal life surrounded by her daughter and granddaughter on December 17, 2025, after a short battle with cancer.

Faye was born October 26, 1948.  A lifelong resident of Franklin, she was a graduate of Franklin High School and the Southampton Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.  Faye loved nursing and taking care of others so much, she practiced nursing in her hometown for 41 years, retiring at the age of 73.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents George Lee Story, Sr. and Ruby Gardner Story; brother George Lee Story, Jr., and a sister.

Left to honor and cherish her memory are her daughter, Amy Todd Story Parker (and husband Aubrey J. Parker, Jr.); her granddaughter and apple of her eye, Alena Racquel Clement, who was inspired by her Grandma and followed in Faye's footsteps and is also a nurse.  She is also survived by her brothers, Nelson Gardner Story, Hunter Keith Story and his wife Donna, and her English Bulldog, Buddy.

Faye will be laid to rest next to her parents in a private burial in Poplar Spring Cemetery.  The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.  In honor of Faye's memory and in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society.
