Capron – Rubie Everett Drake, 89, passed away December 15, 2025 in her home.  Born and raised in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Harvey Drewry Everett, Sr. and Alice Avent Everett.  She was also predeceased by her brother, Harvey "HD" Drewry Everett, Jr.

Rubie was a retired business manager for Belk's Department Store and a member of Joyner Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her son Alan Bland Drake and his wife Kelley; two grandchildren, Jessica Drake and William Davenport (Krista); four great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Laci, Kenna and Sonny; a sister-in-law, Eunice Everett; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Saturday, December 20, 2025 in Joyner Church with Pastor David Everett officiating.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Joyner Church, c/o Kathy Everett, 18697 Three Creeks Rd., Capron, VA  23829.
