Newsoms – Roy Lee Gray, Jr., 85, passed away September 1, 2018 in East Pavilion. Born in Southampton County, he was the son of the late Roy Lee Gray, Sr. and Katie Newsome Gray and was predeceased by his wife Shelba Jean Holt, a step son Kenneth W. Coggsdale, and two brother-in-laws Andrew Sipiczky and David Blythe. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean war and served in the Naval Reserves. He had retired as a warehouse manager for Coastal Chemical Company.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Kathy G. Holt (Jimmy); two sons Roy Lee Gray, III (Terry), David W. Gray (Penny); one step-son Darryl V. Coggsdale; two sisters Joyce G. Sipiczky and Phyllis G. Blythe; six grandchildren Katie and Rebecca Gray, Jessica Moore (Kevin), Ida Gray, Drew Holt (Jodie); and Danielle Beale (Bryce); and five great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM Thursday, September 6, 2018 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Wright officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests memorial donations be made to Harvest Christian Fellowship Church, 27002 Smith's Ferry Road, Franklin or Hunterdale Volunteer Fire Dept., 201 Delaware Rd., Franklin, VA 23851. www.wrightfuneral home.org
