Courtland – Roy Rodger Francis, 78, widower of Nancy Babb Francis, passed away December 12, 2021 in Sentara Obici Hospital.   Born in Franklin on March 1, 1943, he was a son of the late Joseph James Francis and Helen Louise Story Francis.  He was also predeceased by a brother, Joe Francis; two sisters, Mary F. Dunlow and Ellen F. Gyoker; and a daughter, Tammy Renae Francis Boykin.

Roy was an Army Veteran and a Machine Operator in the Sheet Finishing Department at International Paper.  He enjoyed hunting and was a Dallas Cowboy fan.  Roy was a member of County Line Hunt Club and Sebrell United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Michelle Lynn Francis Elmore (Michael); a son, Roy R. Francis, Jr. (Dawn); ten grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Tom Babb.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Tracey Pugh officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in Mount Horeb Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
